Callum Smith-Joshua Buatsi II Among Potential Fights for Queensberry vs. Matchroom Rerun

Matchroom's Eddie Hearn discussed potential matchups for a Queensberry vs. Matchroom '5v5' or '7v7' event, with a Callum Smith vs. Joshua Buatsi II rematch a possibility. Hearn revealed around 15 potential fights between the two promotional companies.

Eddie Hearn sits down to discuss one of the biggest weeks in Irish boxing history, as Katie Taylor finally gets her long-awaited Croke Park homecoming. He also gives major updates on Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury, Dmitry Bivol's next move, the return of the 5v5 concept, and some huge potential fights involving Callum Smith, Joshua Buatsi, Hamzah Sheeraz and more.

Katie Taylor reflects on finally securing her dream Croke Park fight and reveals why this will be the final chapter of her legendary career. The Irish icon discusses her opponent, the possibility of facing Holly Holm, why a fight with Ronda Rousey was never realistic, and opens up emotionally about the personal losses her family has endured in recent months. Taylor also looks back on helping transform women's boxing and shares a message for the next generation.

Team GB World Championship bronze medallist Odel Kamara sits down with Tris Dixon after announcing his decision to turn professional. Widely regarded as one of Britain's brightest boxing talents, Kamara discusses why he chose to skip the Olympic cycle, the importance of building experience in the paid ranks, his dream of headlining at Anfield, and why he believes he can become a global superstar. The Liverpool fighter also opens up about his family, growing up in combat sports, sparring elite professionals, his admiration for Roy Jones Jr, and the incredible support driving him into the next chapter of his career.

Bruce Carrington says he's the best at featherweight and welcomes a showdown with Naoya Inoue.

Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn has shed some light on more potential contests that could take place in a '5v5' with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.

The two promotional outfits pitted five of their best fighters against one another back in 2024 with Warren walking out a clear winner, five-zip. There has been talk about running it back ever since.

Two years on it looks as though we will finally get to see it with talk of the same format returning or even 7v7 to take place this winter.

“Certainly, there have been discussions with myself and George Warren about that card; about a string of fights really,” Hearn confirmed to BoxingScene. “Seven or eight fights that have potential between Queensberry and Matchroom. We just want to run it back. I mean, the event last time, although the scoreboard wasn't great [for Matchroom], to watch it was incredible, and when we look now at the potential matchups I think it's an opportunity to do an even better night than we did last time."

Hearn confirmed that a rematch between WBO interim light heavyweight titleholder Callum Smith and Joshua Buatsi could top the card should Smith be promoted to full champion. He also listed other potential bouts that could feature.

“Denzel Bentley against George Liddard,” Hearn said. “Georgio Visioli against Louie O’Doherty. Lyndon Arthur against Ben Whittaker. Sam Noakes against Joe Cordina – obviously he's fighting Abdullah Mason. Johnny Fisher against Dillian Whyte. I mean it's never ending. There are literally 15 that we've outlined. So yeah lots to pick from.”
